Contractors/Remodeling: warm handoff to a person
When to pass a contractors/remodeling call from AI to a human, and what to say.
Why it works
Callers hate repeating themselves. Passing context with the call keeps trust.
Steps
- 1
Define handoff triggers (angry, complex, big job, asks for a person).
- 2
Summarize name, issue, urgency, address.
- 3
Say who they're going to and why.
- 4
Human opens with the summary.
Prompt / script
Handoff rules: Hand off if: caller asks for a person, is upset, mentions full kitchen or bath remodel, or anything about safety or insurance claims. AI says: "I'm going to connect you with [NAME], who handles this. I'll tell them what you told me so you don't have to repeat it." Note to human: [Name] / [Phone] / [Issue] / [Urgency] / [Location] / [Source] Human opens: "Hi [Name], I see you're calling about [ISSUE]. Let's get it sorted."
