Plumbing: price-shopper call script
What to say when a caller opens with 'how much for drain, leak and water heater work?'
Source: Hive playbook
Why it works
Price-first callers are still buyers. Answering with a range plus a reason to book beats a flat number or a dodge.
Steps
- 1
Thank them for asking.
- 2
Explain why the price depends on what you find.
- 3
Give a range only if you have one you stand behind.
- 4
Offer the on-site estimate as the way to get an exact number.
- 5
Book it.
Prompt / script
Caller: "How much do you charge for [SERVICE]?" You: "Great question. It depends on [1-2 FACTORS]. Most jobs like this land between [YOUR REAL RANGE], but I don't want to guess. Our on-site estimate is [PRICE/FREE] and you'll get an exact number before anything happens. I have [DAY] or [DAY]. Which works better?"
